The Legend of Tarzan is an upcoming movie from director David Yates. Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the African jungle many years ago and is now living under the new identy John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke together with his wife Jane (Margot Robbie) in Great Britain. One day he receives an order from the Parliament: they want Tarzan to go to the Jungle of Congo as a Goodwill Ambassador. But Belgian Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) has actually a completely different plan...

  • The story is not leaned on the Tarzan Disney movie from 1999, but on the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs from 1912 and a 90s comic book from Dark Horse.
  • They started filming Tarzan movie in June 2014 and finished filming in October 2014.
  • The planned 65 million USD production costs was in the end around 180 million USD.
  • Rumors said that Warner Bros. was not happy with final version of the movie.
  • The Tarzan movie 2016 is ranked with a PG-13.
  • David Yates wanted to show - in contrast to many other film versions -  a very strong and independent Jane.

  • The Legend of Tarzan film is dedicated to producer Jerry Weintraub, who died on July 6 2015.
